Proud Owners of....

These to be delivered on Thursday to FG and myself, at work respectively.
Elated. Excited. Enthralled. All the E's.
Cheap ass, affordable and relatively close places to go to for an overnight adventure would be appreciated.
All ideas by email or comments below.
And no, Ireland doesn't count, nor does the Isle of Wight.
Smirk.

Very nice! Congratulations to both of you. Distinguished, isn't it?

I guess you'll have been cheering for England in the cricket yesterday then? (No? Oh no, you're right, they're a bunch of sorry-arsed losers! Good call :).

Anyway ~ an overnighter? How about Bruges? I've heard St Malo (on the coast of Brittany) is nice too.

The only thing is, if you like the place, an overnighter won't be long enough :)

Erm, I didn't realise they / we were playing cricket. Grin.

But, sitting down and looking at all the places we can go...I am suddenly struck by the idea of going down to Cornwall or the Isle of Skye or sumat.

Mad, isn't it?

All hail Citizens Brit!

Bruges is supposed to be very nice indeed - Herself has been, and we were planning to go at some point for a weekend.

Also, Paris. In the spring. Mmmmm...... Coffee in a street café. Drifting through Montmartre. Wandering through the Louvre. Wheezing up the Eiffel Tower. Well, I like it, anyway...

A little longer flight will take you into Pisa, from whence you can catch the train to delectable Florence. Art galore and THE best gelato in the world. And there's this wonderful little family-run osteria south of the Arno I could point you to. We stayed in a former convent (now small, old-fashioned hotelly thing) not far from there. Fab!

The Continent's your oyster now, sweeties!
